The joint project between ADNOC and ADQ aims to enhance economic diversification in the UAE by developing local chemical value chains with a methanol production facility in Abu Dhabi.

The company "Taziz" announced the signing of a contract worth 6.2 billion dirhams (1.7 billion dollars) with Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd. for the construction of one of the largest metallurgical plants in the world in the Al Ruwais industrial complex in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi emirate. The project of the metallurgical plant, the first of its kind in the country with a production capacity of 1.8 million tons per year, marks an important achievement within the framework of Taziz's efforts to accelerate the implementation of its plans for creating an economic diversification in the UAE for the development of the added value chain for chemical materials at the local level.

"We are pleased to jointly launch this key project with ADQ, which will become one of the largest metallurgical plants in the world and will bring significant benefits for the UAE economy, promoting our strategy for creating an effective and sustainable economy," said the chairman of the Taziz Board, Mohamed Khalfi Al-Otaibi.

It is expected that the plant will become an important player in the chemical industry market and confirm the UAE's leading position as a major global producer of metals.
